Cancellations

Apologies to everyone who has had lessons cancelled during my mother's recent illness, death and funeral.  Everyone has now had either a rescheduled lesson, or a cover lesson with a replacement teacher, or has been offered a refund.  I don't cancel often, and I'm sure you can understand why these exceptional arrangements have had to happen.   I am now back to business as usual, and anticipate that continuing until the end of term.

Unfortunately, I have also been on the receiving end of a lot of cancellations recently, many of them without any notice, and many for comparatively trivial reasons.  This is a big problem for me, and is why my terms and conditions (which you did read when you booked lessons, didn't you?  I did refer you to them then....) say "All time booked must be paid for".

Why does it say this?

Well, once I take a booking for a lesson, that time is not available for anyone else who may want a lesson - someone on my waiting list, or someone who takes ad-hoc lessons with me when they're available, or someone else who needs to reschedule for their own fixture clash.  So if you don't use that lesson, it is time in which I can't earn money - and that mass of cancellations begins to cost me serious chunks of my income.

For this reason, I am going to be enforcing the cancellation condition more strictly from now on.  If you can't make a lesson, please let me know.  I will try and find a reschedule for you if I can, but if I can't, the fee for the lesson will still be payable, or one lesson will be counted from your prepaid batch.  And if you just don't show up without warning me, then I'm afraid that's a fee due, end of story.
